Heel Style/height
It is important to choose the right heel both to please your aestethic sense and also for ease of use when dancing. Some people will say it doesn’t matter the type of shoe, you should be able to dance equally well in anything. But it really does make a difference in my opinion. I have found I have an easier time getting up on my tacón (balancing on it for jabs—not a common move but lots of fun in advanced work— in a carrete heel versus a cubano or clásico. However, the cubano provides a lot of stability. Choices, choices, choices… Here is the range of styles you can find out there.
