Appropriate for beginners and advanced beginners, we will work on flamenco posture & attitude, braceo (armwork), floreo (handwork), and taconeo (footwork).
For the Summer Session, we will work on choreographic variations on a theme each week, covering percussion remates with hands and feet, tangos marking, Alegrias escobilla, and Alegrias marking. We will learn several variations, then you will create your own.

The class location is Dance Connection Studio, 221 Center Street Grayslake. We will be at the BACK STUDIO, so park in the lot BEHIND the dance studio.
Missed classes cannot be made up, but you choose drop in classes instead of registering for the entire session.
This class is open to students of all ages (over 13), fitness levels, and genders; everyone is absolutely welcome. No experience is necessary for this class.
What to wear: Please wear comfortable clothing. Some students prefer leggings or sweatpants, while some prefer a long ruffled skirt. Some choreography does use the skirt. A closer fitting top is preferred so posture can be seen and technique development can be supported. Sneakers are okay until flamenco shoes can be purchased.
